Farenheit 451
Title: Farenheit 451 Author: Ray Bradbury Genre: Dystopian/Classic Summary: A classic/dystopian novel where books are illegal and 'firemen' are the ones to enforce the law. My Review: Ray Bradbury was truly ahead of his time in writing this novel. Our society has only become more dependent upon technology since the original publication, and this is a timeless cautionary tale. It is a very clear and plausible glimpse into our future. The people in this novel mindlessly go through their lives, completely lost in their screens. They allow the created programs to entertain them and trust everything being told to them at face value, because they don't have to worry or think. Thinking is actually discouraged, and books are outlawed. The easiest way to keep revolution and change from occurring is to oppress civilization, and humanity allowed itself collectively to be distracted over time. The people do not even understand that they are being oppressed....
